What is NZEE?

The Net Zero Energy Ecosystem is an environment where net energy consumption is balanced out by the production and storage of clean renewable energy. An interconnected ecosystem allows for a more resilient and sustainable energy system, reducing reliance on traditional fossil fuels and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.

Net Zero Energy Ecosystem Roadmap

The NZEE Program roadmap outlines four RDI focus areas, nine work packages, and various subprojects aimed at creating a path toward a sustainable ecosystem for renewable energy.

RDI Focus Areas

The program features four Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) focus areas that together solve the missing links to enable a Net Zero Energy Ecosystem (NZEE).

Focus Area 1

Production of sustainable fuels and chemicals from residual biomass and waste

Focus Area 2

Energy security, reliability and resilience using long duration energy storage

Focus Area 3

CCUS solutions for energy and heavy industries

Focus Area 4

Services to maximize customer value during lifecycle
